Maintenance Technician
The continuous flow of our various production lines is a top priority at Accuform Signs. We work hard to ensure our productivity standards are met by keeping these processes on track and running smoothly. The function of our Maintenance Technician is to maintain the machines and equipment that enable us to reach those goals. It is their responsibility to identify and repair any issues, and perform general maintenance. Work involves the general maintenance of machinery and equipment; operation and observation to determine efficiency and detect issues; disassembly and reassembly of machines and equipment; parts change out; inventory control; troubleshooting electrical components; performing any necessary repairs or adjustments; and troubleshooting in general. Other responsibilities will include assistance with general facilities maintenance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate preventative maintenance on all production equipment and machinery
- Perform repairs on machinery and equipment, as needed
- Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
- Perform inspection and testing of damaged parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors as required
- Use precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers, as part of the inspection and testing process
- Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures
- Start and run machines to observe mechanical operation and determine efficiency or detect problems
- Employ a general working knowledge of the operation of PLCs to troubleshoot electrical components, sensors, pneumatic solenoids and relays
- Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, dollies, or other tools
- Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that items and supplies can be maintained and replenished
- Maintain machinery and work areas by collecting and discarding worn parts and other refuse
- Collaborate with other workers and departments to repair or move machines, machine parts, or other equipment
- Dismantle machines, remove parts, and reassemble machines using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, hoists or other equipment
- Clean machines and parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment or products
- Read and comprehend work orders, blueprints, diagrams and other schematics to perform maintenance and repair, according to specified procedures
- Complete safety training as may be needed for the position, and comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Must be able to take direction and work well with others
- General knowledge of the operation of PLC’s
- Strong mechanical inclination
- Experienced use of precision measuring tools
- Ability to read and comprehend the English language
- High attention to detail
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Demonstrate a sound work ethic
- 1-3 years’ related work experience
