Accounts Receivable Clerk

Accuform Signs is seeking a customer service oriented professional to efficiently maintain customer accounts. The function of the A/R Clerk is to accurately maintain receivable accounts, keeping all records current. Work involves posting customer payments, reviewing accounts, collecting past due payments, resolving discrepancies and overall customer service. Accounts Receivable works closely with other members of the Accounting team, and maintains steady communication with other internal customers to maintain accounts. Job functions may include general accounting and clerical duties or special assignments as directed. The A/R clerk must be able to prioritize and handle incoming requests in a fast-paced, business environment, while interacting with internal and external customers in a professional and positive manner on a consistent basis.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Run daily sales report to retrieve sales/shipping information, process data and email appropriate distribution list
  • Post customer deposits and credit card payments to customer accounts and reconcile to daily bank deposit information
  • Check orders on credit hold – contact customer for payment to release order
  • Set up new customers at request of Account Manager: fax credit information request to their Trade References, assign new customer number and set up in system, email new customer information to receptionist to send a Welcome letter/packet
  • Categorize invoices according to which need to be mailed, auto-faxed or emailed
  • Run Accounts Receivable Aging report, contact past due customers and work to get accounts current
  • Communicate successes, needs, and challenges to Team and Supervisor
  • Work independently and with teammates to meet challenges head on
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned
  • Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Strong computer, telephone, internet and communication skills
    • Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet working knowledge is required
    • Must be able to take direction and work well on a team
    • Must be able to complete all assigned training
    • Must demonstrate a high attention to detail
    • 2 or more years related experience
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
