GHS is the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. This standard has been internationally agreed upon as a universal method of communicating chemical hazards, superseding local formats in the USA and around the world.

New GHS labels convey hazard class information in a standard format. These inform workers around the world of the health and safety concerns associated with specific chemicals.  As of June 2015, all labels produced will be GHS compliant. Labels require product identifiers, pictograms, precautionary statements, supplier identification, a signal word, and a hazard statement.
