Accuform Signs recently partnered with Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo and the Florida Aquarium to make over 300 zoo and exhibit signs to help the zoo gain their Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accreditation.
This image was taken at the Accuform Signs booth while exhibiting at the AZA Expo 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia. The AZA meets bi-annually, and attracts owners, CEO's, curators, directors of customer service, naturalists and others. They converge at the conference to learn best practices and take other coursework, meet new vendors, and help their zoos and aquariums better meet the needs of the public.
At Accuform, we're not animal experts (we couldn't tell you the genus and species of a cheetah, well, maybe some of us can) but we know how to make signs. We have nearly 30 different materials to choose from in different thicknesses and we believe in the right material for the environment - so we'll never try to upsell you on a sign that you don't need.
We digitally print which is better for the environment and we also offer RE-Plastic™, a material made from 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material.
The Lowry Park Zoo has a design team that put together all of the images and text for the signs, then in conjunction with our team of artists, we were able to print the signs to their specs. The sign material they chose is Accu-Shield™, a proprietary, 15-year guaranteed material. Accu-Shield™ comes in two thicknesses, and the image is reverse printed with UV-resistant ink, keeping it enclosed between a layer of clear polycarbonate and a pebble-textured backing, ensuring the safety of the message. Accu-Shield™ will withstand rain, heat, mold, sun, wind, pressure washing, chemical washing - you name it, and that's why it's guaranteed.
For more information on how to get started with your zoo and aquarium signs, you can contact a customer service agent.
