Indiana Prepares to Implement its State-wide No Smoking Ban
On March 19th, 2012 a state-wide ban on smoking in Indiana became a law, going into effect July 1st, 2012. There are some exemptions such as bars, taverns, gaming facilities, cigar/hookah bars, retail tobacco stores, nonprofit private clubs and fraternal organizations. All public places in Indiana will be effected including places of employment, vehicles owned, leased or operated by the state or operated during a governmental function. The area within 8 feet of an entrance to a public place or place of employment must also remain smoke-free.
