Digital Finishing Operator

Accuform is looking for a skilled individual to operate finishing equipment in our Small Format Digital Printing department. Help us meet production requirements in support of our company vision to be our customers’ favorite supplier! Work involves the operation and maintenance of digital equipment to laminate and cut material down, the operation and maintenance of a label-counter/re-winder to count labels and re-wind rolls of material, and quality inspection of work performed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive work orders throughout shift and continuously prioritize work load based on ship date and labor time
• Confirm availability of materials required to complete assigned jobs
• Set machines to proper specifications for operation of each job based on production orders
• Use measuring devices to ensure proper setup of equipment
• Perform quality inspection of product, reconciling product to work order and checking for accuracy of print and finishing specifications
• Communicate production changes to team lead, supervisor, or other departments as required
• Document change requirements on production work orders and add notes in system
• Report to department coordinator regularly on expedited orders and jobs that require special attention
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Ability to be on your feet, standing and/or walking, for the duration of your shift
• Ability to identify and distinguish between colors
• Ability to move large quantities of product or material by use of carts, buckets, dollies, hand trucks or other equipment
• Ability to perform such actions as bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, lifting, and performing repetitive motions throughout shift
• Handle material up to 50 pounds in weight
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around machinery or equipment with moving parts
• Could be exposed to dust, noise or hazardous materials
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Good reading, spelling and comprehension
• Intermediate to strong math skills
• Ability to take accurate measurements using rulers, tapes, calipers and other tools
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to take direction and work well with others
• 1-3 years’ related experience required
• Previous experience operating finishing equipment preferred
• High school diploma; or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
