Operation Upgrade 5.0 Kicking Off this August!

Parrott Middle School Image Update

This image is a rendering of what one of the updates in the front administration office will look like after the first installation is completed.

The 5th school selected to receive an extreme makeover from Operation Upgrade is selected right in time for the 2020-2021 school year to start.

AccuformNMC is thrilled to continue the mission of adopting a school in the community through Operation Upgrade.

Brooksville, FL - For most students across America, it’s been nearly six months since they laughed with their friends on the school bus, skipped through the halls of their school, or walked through the doors leading into their classroom.

Luckily, with the 2020-2021 school year around the corner, the students at D.S. Parrott Middle School in Brooksville, are in for a surprise from the Operation Upgrade Team when they arrive on the property before the ringing of the first bell. AccuformNMC granted this school an extreme school makeover after working with Superintendent of Hernando County, John Stratton, on determining the next school to upgrade.

Like the last five schools selected for Operation Upgrade, Kellie Davidson, Manager of Facilities, is leading the team through the install - the first one to kick off later this August.

The first round of installs, primarily in the front office and courtyard area, will include graphics that promote school pride and create a dynamic, consistent look and feel with logos, colors, imagery, and messages. Products include window graphics, social distancing floor signs and floor tape, hand hygiene, and more.

At this time, the primary focus of the first phase of upgrades is to promote school pride. Senior Marketing Manager, Lain Livingston, and Davidson plan to work with Principal, Edward LaRose, to conduct a COVID-19 walkthrough audit. The walkthrough will determine stock safety signs to promote new safety policies that reduce the chances of germs spreading on the school campus.

“The ability for AccuformNMC and Justrite Safety Group to invest in the well-being of students and faculty as they return to school is something we can all be proud of right now. The insights we will learn from partnering with D.S. Parrott Middle School will empower us to expand our reach and the impact we can make on schools across the nation,” said Livingston.

D.S. Parrott Middle School is a public school located in Brooksville, FL. It has 670 students in grades 6-8 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. According to state test scores, 55% of students are at least proficient in math and 50% in reading.

With student’s safety and well-being of top concern this school year, AccuformNMC is thrilled to continue the mission of adopting a school in the community through Operation Upgrade.

Special thanks to our volunteers for helping with Operation Upgrade this school year. And if your child is returning to school - in person or virtually – may they have a safe and healthy 2020-2021 school year!

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education” – Martin Luther King, JR.
