Production Artist

This is a regular, full-time, non-exempt level position. The function of the Production Artist is to create/typeset print-ready art files to meet specific requirements based on customer specifications and production requirements. Work involves: the use of software programs to typeset and create art files; reading assigned purchase orders, quote requests, and production and supporting documents; communicating with other departments to confirm sizing, style and arrangement of graphics and copy; performing required quality assurance checks; and saving/scanning completed files. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Work independently to examine all assigned work orders and quote requests Use software programs like Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop to create or typeset print-ready art files Perform quality checks by comparing finished art files to the work order, quotation, or other supporting documents to ensure customer requirements are being met Proofread and use spellcheck to ensure order accuracy Follow production processes to save and scan approved art files to the proper location(s) Effectively communicate with coworkers and other departments in regards to work order details Stay organized and work independently to meet deadlines Assist teammates and/or other departments depending on workflow Meet attendance and punctuality expectations Must be able to work overtime as requested

Desired Skills and Experience: Must demonstrate a high computer proficiency Must be able to take direction and work well on a team Must be able to complete all assigned training Must demonstrate a high attention to detail 3-6 months’ experience with required software programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign 1-yr certificate from college or technical school; or 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
