Fabrication Technician

Fabrication Technicians build or make parts to satisfy production requirements in support of our company vision to be our customers’ favorite supplier.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize work orders throughout shift based on ship date and labor time
  • Reconcile product and material received against assigned work orders
  • Analyze, design, problem solve, and plan to create parts required for production requirements
  • Install wiring for lighting fixtures, switches, and other basic electrical components
  • Perform quality inspection of material, checking for accuracy of print and finishing specifications
  • Confirm availability of all materials, tools and necessary items required to complete assigned jobs
  • Operate power tools, machines, and hand tools to make necessary parts, assemble products, and disassemble products according to customer orders
  • Use measuring devices to ensure accurate cuts, part builds, and product assembly
  • Add and remove products or parts from inventory as required for assembly, packaging and completion of orders
  • Track, prepare and organize multiple orders to ship on time
  • Communicate production changes to team lead, supervisor, or other departments as required
  • Document change requirements on production work orders and add notes in system
  • Report to department coordinator regularly on expedited orders and jobs that require special attention or will require more than two hours production time
  • Perform inventory maintenance and communicate with Inventory Control to resolve any stock issues, confirm cycle counts, or create stock locations
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Good reading, spelling and comprehension
  • Intermediate to strong math skills
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to take accurate measurements using rulers, tapes, gauges and other tools
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to take direction and work well with others
  • 1-3 years’ related experience
  • Prior machinist experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary: 12.00 hourly
