To most, AccuformNMC is well-known for manufacturing safety signs, tags, labels, customization, and more. However, our community involvement roots run really deep, too. That is why we joined the Arc Movement in 2008.
If you are interested in learning more about the Arc movement or would like to get involved, there are more than 700 state and local chapters nationwide. The Arc is the front lines to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families have the support they need to be members of the community.
Founded in 1950, The Arc serves as a catalyst for changing the public perception of people with disabilities.
The Arc of the United States is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Since walking through the doors of our facility, Arc Nature Coasts remains a key part of our AccuformNMC family. Ten Arc employees strong continue to learn the skill of counting, bagging, boxing, sealing, scanning, and labeling tags. On a daily basis, they count 14,017 tags, equaling 280,356 tags a month.
However, they have learned more than the skill of handling and packaging tags.
“I’m proud to learn the computer and everything that helps me grow,” said Elaine Mieres. She has worked with AccuformNMC for 12 years. Even though she keeps learning new things, her favorite memory about AccuformNMC is that it is her first job. "I'm happy to be here," she said.
“AccuformNMC is a good work environment,” said April Beck. April started at AccuformNMC four years ago and looks forward to helping with various tag needs.
Safety tags are a key product for AccuformNMC and since teaming up with Arc, they've counted 37,006,992 tags, which equals 1,480,279 packs of 25.
Angela Click said the coolest thing she learned at AccuformNMC is putting wires on safety tags.
“My favorite tags are fluorescent colored tags because they’re easy to count. Putting wire ties on tags was the hardest thing but I learned it,” said Click.
