Stop Signs

When a sign is used to indicate that traffic is always required to stop, use Stop Signs, per the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Meet MUTCD requirements by posting octagon shaped Stop Signs with a white legend and border on a red background, on the right side of the approach to which it applies, and as close as practical to the intersection it regulates. Keep others protected from serious traffic accidents and ensure the direction of traffic is moving in the correct direction with Stop Signs.

Additionally, follow regulatory sign sizes to determine the size of the Stop Signs you need. Stop Signs used on conventional roads are typically 30"x30" and regulations pertaining to them can be found in section 2B.04 of the MUTCD Training. Post Stop Signs anywhere you need to effectively alert others to stop and look both ways before driving forward.
